Episode 13: Riding to the limit with Robin Gemperle

This week Emma is joined by ultracyclist, Robin Gemperle. This summer Robin won the Transcontinental Race (TCR), known as the hardest European ultra cycling race, in a remarkable 8 days, 23 hours, and 59 minutes.

The race is free route while encompassing several control points and this year it started in Roubaix, France, and finished in Istanbul, Turkey, with riders covering over 4,000km and traversing at least 10 different countries. It was Robin’s third TCR, and it was indeed, third time lucky. Robin shares what makes him push his body to the extreme and how it felt to clinch the win, amongst a glittering line-up of well-known riders.

He talks about what the sport of cycling means to him and what he has his sights set on next.  But Robin is not just an ultracyclist, he is a man of many talents; DJ, restauranteur, architect, to name a few, and he shares his love for spinning many different plates but also reveals where he wants his focus to rest.
